Brazilian illustrator Gabriel Picolo is just over 100 days into an awesome art project called 365-DaysofDoodles. It’s exactly what it sounds like - Picolo is drawing something new in one of his Moleskine sketchbooks every day for a year. However these are some of the finest “doodles” we’ve ever seen.

Each drawing is unique and often inspired by some sort of pop culture source, featuring his own version of characters from anime, tv, movies and fine art.

Click here to view all of the daily doodles that Picolo has created thus far and then be sure to check back to watch him update the project.

do your eyes ever randomly go out of focus and then you are too lazy to focus them back in and just stare at nothing for a while

The calm before the storm, or the storm before the calm? It’s one of those days where you just have to question everything. Y’knawwwmean? Both of those statements work because nature loops in a cycle, so it’s inevitable to experience one or the other.

That was my weird introduction that won’t really relate too well to what I’m trying to say, but whatever it’s been a while…

I am a pretty aggressive and confrontational person. I have very strong views about things that are appropriate and inappropriate behavior. For example, you should never cheat on your significant other. To me that’s just wrong because of the way I was raised and because of the experiences in my life and how I have chosen to interpret these events. SO, we live our lives and we think we’re moral and we’re ethical and all that shit, our experiences have proven them so, right? BUT, when someone comes along who is equally just as strong minded as you are and has been shaped by their own life experiences, when their views clash with yours does this mean that one of us is wrong? Is one of us to be labeled closed-minded or ignorant? Am I closed-minded for not agreeing with you even though I understand your perspective? Are you ignorant for never before knowing my point of view and after hearing it, still sticking to your beliefs?

Are the clashing of two adamant and and stubborn minds supposed to be a blessing or a curse? Yes, a mutual understanding can be reached but one will never be able to fully agree with the other. There will always be that difference in belief that will be held onto so tightly so as not to fall overboard. I’m just wondering if this strengthens the sailor because it sure as hailz doesn’t help with morale. I mean, I know a ship at harbor never made a good sailor, but getting killed in a freak monster-tsunami-storm never did either. Just sayin’.

Couldn’t pick the colors for this one so have two little doodles of Spirited Away. It’s probably one of my favorite Miyazaki movies !
